the memorial on your screen, just as it reads in the bricks by the Old Burying Point Cemetery
in Salem, Massachusetts.  According to Salem historians, these are some of the actual statements
spoken by the girls in their defense during the witch trials of 1692.

Ignored in life at their trials...and apparently in death as well, for the memorial is abruptly
interrupted near the end with a rock covering up the text.
