Q: I just got on your site and ordered a kit. How long will it take to get here?
A: Shipment is usually sent out the day after the order is received. We're in Michigan so for most parts of the country, expect between 2 or 3 days. Maybe 4 days for the west coast states.

Q: I just received my kit and there are no directions or anything, just the bricks. Is there something missing?
A: Nothing is missing. That is how the kits come. There are no actual "directions" because what you build with your kit is up to you and your imagination. However, there is information on the main castle kits page of this site to give you suggestions and pointers on how to build your structure.

Q: How many kits did it take to make the castle shown on the website and how big is it?
A: That castle was built with just under one kit and is roughly 14" wide x 10" deep x 8" high.

Q: How long does it take to make a castle?
A: Using regular Elmer's Glue, another row should be ready to construct a few minutes after the row below it is done. Glueing window arches or fancy curved walls takes a little longer; it depends how complicated your design is. The castle shown on this site took about 2 days.

Q: How big of a castle can I make with one kit?
A: You'll have to do some math and floor planning. The measurements of each brick configuration are listed on the main castle kits page. The amount of bricks that come with one kit is also listed. Simply multiply the length of a whole brick (3/4") by the size of your floor plan. An easy way to get an accurate calculation is to "dry" place the enitre first row of your floor plan with actual bricks. Multiply the amount of bricks you used and you'll quickly know how many rows high you can build with the alloted number of bricks in the kit.

Q: I ordered 2 kits but they are not the same exact color shade. Are they defective?
A: No they are not defective. It's almost impossible to get kits to match in color exactly. They are produced seperately by hand using mixtures of portland cement, sand and water. While every attempt is used to measure the ingredients as close as possible kit to kit, it sometimes varies slightly, resulting in a darker or lighter shade. This difference should be very very slight, at most. If you purchase 2 or more kits, make sure you open all the kits and mix the bricks together, avoiding having a certain shade lumped together in one section of your castle. Dampness or dryness is also a factor, depending on where you store your bricks before building.

Q: We're having a difficult time getting the bricks to stick together. Any suggestions?
A: It is very important to rub the concrete dust off the brick on any surface that will receive glue. A quick finger rub will clean the bricks enough to adhere strongly to each other.
